At Muskan Sansthan, empowering women is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that a society’s true progress is reflected in how it treats and uplifts its women, especially those who have faced abandonment, abuse, and discrimination. Through various programs and initiatives, Muskan Sansthan provides shelter, emotional support, and skill-based training to help women rebuild their lives with dignity, independence, and self-respect.
Mahila Ashram is an initiative by Muskan Sansthan dedicated to providing shelter, care, and rehabilitation for women who have been sexually abused, left homeless, or abandoned by their families. Many of these women are widows, deserted near religious places, or have been released from prison without any family support. The Destitute Women Home in Dungarpur offers them a safe refuge, where they can live with dignity and begin the healing process.
Here, women are not just sheltered but are also trained in various skills such as weaving, stitching, papad making, and beautician work. These programs are designed to help them achieve economic independence so they can rebuild their lives and support their children, who are also provided with food, shelter, and education at the Ashram.
Key Objectives:
At Muskan Sansthan, we focus on Livelihood Training to help marginalized women develop the skills necessary for sustainable income generation. These women often face stigma, discrimination, and trauma, and we aim to support them through counseling and hands-on training. Our livelihood programs include mattress making, leather bag production, beautician courses, and more. These skills empower women to become self-reliant, ensuring that they can support themselves and their families without depending on others.
The training is part of a broader effort to ensure that women can reintegrate into society with dignity and financial independence, contributing meaningfully to their communities.
In the tribal district of Dungarpur, where malnutrition among children remains a significant issue, Muskan Sansthan has taken a proactive role by starting the Anganwadi Training Centre. Despite various welfare programs, the rate of malnutrition remains high at 40%. Our Anganwadi Training Centre provides crucial training to Anganwadi workers, helpers, and staff working at both Central and State Government-run centers, aiming to enhance the quality of care provided to children.
The center focuses on raising awareness among pregnant women and lactating mothers about combating malnutrition and promoting health for infants and children aged 0-5 years. Through this initiative, we hope to improve the long-term health and well-being of children in this challenging region.
Providing a safe and supportive home for women in distress.
Empowering women with vocational training to help achieve independence.
Combating malnutrition and promoting healthy living practices.
