When our dedicated team of special educators intervened, we not only freed him from his physical chains but also began the slow and patient work of liberating him from his mental and emotional struggles. Through tailored counseling, consistent monitoring, and prescribed medication, we witnessed a remarkable transformation. The boy who once roamed aimlessly and violently is now a proud high school graduate, trained at our skill development center, and gainfully employed, earning 8,000 to 9,000 INR a month. In the heart of Dungarpur, Rajasthan, Muskan Sansthan stands as a sanctuary for 100 mentally challenged children hailing from the most marginalized tribal communities. For the past 12 years, we have been committed to providing these children with a home filled with love, care, and opportunities to flourish against all odds.
These children come from impoverished backgrounds where basic necessities are a luxury, and understanding and compassion for their conditions are scarce. Many have faced harrowing experiences, often neglected and misunderstood by their own families. One such story is of a young boy who was found chained by his family, unable to control his actions, and shunned for his behavior. His family, overwhelmed and lacking resources, felt they had no choice but to restrain him.
Our facility provides comprehensive care, including food, lodging, education, and specialized therapy. Every child is nurtured by a team of professionals dedicated to their development and well-being. Our work is not just about managing disabilities but about unlocking potential and fostering independence.
